Private-Label T-Shirts and Hoodies: Development and Repeat Orders for Brands
Established brands need consistent specifications across new styles and replenishment orders. Yuanchun reviews knitted T-shirt and hoodie projects from a tech pack or reference sample, and can discuss development from existing factory styles. Define the garment and branding requirements before sampling.
Build a controlled tech pack
Include the style number and revision, front and back references, fabric composition and GSM, measurements and grading, tolerances, construction details, colour references and artwork. Specify labels, hangtags and packaging in the same brief. Keep changes traceable so sampling and bulk production use the agreed version.
Review branding and destination requirements
Provide label content, placement, dimensions and packaging artwork. Confirm destination-market labelling and product requirements with the appropriate qualified adviser or official guidance before approving artwork. Do not assume the factory's ability to attach a label verifies the accuracy of its claims. Specify any required certification evidence before quotation.
Approve samples and changes in writing
Review fit, fabric, trims and decoration against the brief. Record approved changes, outstanding issues and the final reference before bulk production. Sampling rounds depend on the style and review outcome; they should not be promised as a fixed number. Regular custom samples take around 15–20 days as a planning reference, with actual timing confirmed separately.
Plan bulk production and inspection
The standard bulk MOQ starts at 300 pieces per style; colour and size allocation and material minimums are reviewed for the order. Regular bulk production is around 50 days as a planning reference. For material-inclusive production, timing starts from contract signing; when fabric is supplied separately, it starts when fabric reaches the warehouse. Agree actual timing, inspection points and required tests in the order.
Prepare replenishment before the next launch
Retain the approved style reference, material specification, colour standard, measurement chart and branding files. Reconfirm material availability, shade matching, quantities and delivery window for each repeat order.
